Passport Services

The applicant is required to bring the following for forwarding to the Director of Immigration Services in Nairobi:-

1. The application form PP1 duly completed as per the instructions therein.
   The form is available at the Kenya Embassy or can be downloaded.

2. Two passport sized studio photographs of the applicant taken full face without head- scuff or wigs.
   The size of the photograph must be 2 by 2 ½ inches.
   Machine photographs are not acceptable.
   The two should be certified by the recommender (see the PP1 form) for more information.
3. Passport fees

32 pages ordinary “A” series	50,000
48 pages ordinary “B” series	65,000
68 pages ordinary “C” series	86,500



4. If the applicant is applying for a new passport after expiry of his/her current passport, he or she should do the following:-
5. If at the time of application, the passport has not yet expired and one desires to keep it, he or she should bring copies of the valid passport to the Embassy together with the application.
6. If the passport has expired by the time of application one can hand it in and will be sent to Nairobi and will be returned to him with the new one.
7. Processing of the passport takes between 4-8 weeks.
8. Applicants are requested to leave their tel./email contacts with the Kenya Embassy so as to be reached easily when their new passports are received.
9. Old passports should always be brought for cancellation when collecting new ones.

3. A self-explanatory letter from the child’s legal guardian to the Director of Immigration in Nairobi requesting issuance of the passport and the reason/s for the request.

5. The child’s birth certificate (original and copy).
6. The mother’s or father’s passport (Copy).

• Please note that children of all ages are required to be issued with their own passports.
